How Are Aluminum Canopies Manufactured?
2. Aluminum Profile Processing
Subsequently, the core profile processing stage begins. High-quality aluminum ingots are heated to an appropriate temperature and extruded through special molds to produce custom-section profiles for the canopy. The profiles go through quenching and aging treatment to improve their hardness and stability. Then, numerical control cutting equipment is used to accurately cut the materials to the required dimensions as per the drawings, with strict control over angle and length tolerances. Later, drilling machines, punching machines and CNC machining centers are adopted to complete refined processing such as hole drilling, slot milling and chamfering on the components. Key stress-bearing parts can be welded and reinforced with argon arc welding, and all welds are polished to remove burrs and eliminate internal stress after welding.
3. Surface Treatment
Next comes the surface treatment process. The processed profiles first undergo pre-treatment including degreasing, water washing and passivation to remove oil stains and oxide layers on the surface, enhancing the adhesion of the coating. Depending on product positioning, anodizing, electrostatic powder coating or fluorocarbon coating is selected, and a wear-resistant, UV-resistant and corrosion-resistant protective layer is formed after high-temperature curing. The thickness of the coating and color difference are strictly controlled throughout the process to ensure durable outdoor application.
4. Frame Pre-Assembly
After qualified surface treatment, the frame pre-assembly stage starts. The overall frame is assembled in strict accordance with the construction drawings, fixed with special fasteners and matching connectors throughout. The levelness, verticality and squareness of the frame are accurately calibrated, and waterproof adhesive strips and accessories adapted to thermal expansion and contraction are installed. All components are uniformly numbered and marked, and the pre-assembled frame is disassembled and packaged after passing inspection for convenient subsequent transportation and rapid on-site installation.
5. Panel Assembly and Finished Product Inspection
Afterwards, panel processing and supporting assembly are completed simultaneously. Panel materials such as aluminum veneers are cut, edged and drilled accurately as required, then precisely fitted into the frame slots, fixed and sealed with pressure strips and sealant to prevent water leakage. Supporting parts such as drainage pipe fittings are installed at the same time. Finally, a full inspection of the finished product is carried out to check the dimensional accuracy, connection strength, surface quality and waterproof performance. After passing all inspections, a protective film is attached to the product, and it is packed with protective materials such as foam and wooden boxes to complete the entire production process, ready for delivery and on-site installation.
